2011 Supreme Show Dog Contest. Saturday 2nd July 2011
27th Annual We thank all of those members who have commented on the proposal to change the qualification process for the Supreme Show Dog Contest from 2011 onwards. It is fair to say that we had both negative and positive comments on the proposal to only have the qualification process via the points score system run by Dogz Online. The committees has considered the feedback and accept that some exhibitors will be disadvantaged where they choose not to join the Dogz Online system or where they do not have ready access to a computer However we do believe that our original suggestion has merit and will help to enliven the Contest and provide a good number of entries. We have therefore decided on a compromise where both views can be accommodated. The proposal has been amended so that the qualification process for the 2011 Contest onwards will be: To qualify for the 2011 Supreme Show Dog Contest you will either have to: 1. Have won a Best In Show at a South Island All Breeds Championship show or at the National Dog Show 2. Have been placed in the top four of your Group in the Dogz Online Points Score Competition for the South Island in 2010 If a dog in the top four has also won a Best In Show there will be no automatic elevation of a lower placed dog. The committee considers that this will be a fair arrangement for all competitors and we look forward to your on-going support of the Contest which remains the oldest continuously running contest of its type in the Southern Hemisphere. We are also delighted to announce that ProPlan will once again be the major sponsor of this event in 2010 and we look forward to continuing our involvement with them.
